Thursday, December 23, 2004 - It's Really Strange...

when you are shoveling snow and it's 50 F outside.

There's been a lot of bitter cold and a couple inches of snow last night, but today we got this freaky warm front that came through for a few hours, and then the temperature dropped back down into the low 20's.

This would be ok, but that meant that snow was melting and flooding the sidewalk and the end of the driveway. And if that (and the snow still on the driveway) sat, it would all turn to ice by nightfall. So I bundled up the kids, and we headed outside into the rain and shoveled snow.

I also learned that my snow boots cannot stand up to 4 inches of water. Brrrr....
