Friday, September 17, 2004 - I Can't Complain
I have no business bitching about my life. None at all. It's strange to think of my life this way, but I realize that I've got it better than almost everyone else in the world.
I've got:
- financial security (tenuous as that can be in this day and age)
- reasonable physical health
- reasonable mental health (slight madness aside)
- terrific relationships with most of my family (and at least cordial relationships with the rest)
- a happy marriage
- the best kids in the world (yeah, I know, your kids are the best in the world, not mine)
- good physical security
- few, but very close, friends
- spiritual peace (ok, how about not constant spiritual torment)
- time and capability to pursue intellectual enrichment
- rhythm (who could ask for anything more?)
This is an abbreviated list. Most people don't have all these things, and I know I don't deserve all that I have. I'm lucky or blessed or both.
What I will be judged upon is how I have used these blessings to help others.
