Saturday, September 11, 2004 - A $3000 Night of Debauchery

No, no, wipe that shocked look off your faces! I'm going to explain!

Last night we had plans to go over to a friend's house for a campfire. That was cancelled because the footbridge over the creek we have to cross to get to that part of his yard was a foot under water!

So we found ourselves with babysitting and no particular plans. We decided to go to the furniture store and found a lovely bedroom set. This, of course, accounts for most of the $3000 mentioned in the title. It was about time - my husband's dresser is literally falling apart.

We were driving along after that and I complained of hunger, so Ironwolf whisked me away to a fancy restaurant along the Niagara River. Very, very nice!

After that, we went up to the Seneca Niagara Casino in Niagara Falls. Now, I'm not much of a one for gambling, but I did put a little money away for such an occasion. We played blackjack for a little while - I stayed about even and Ironwolf won a bit. He then blew his winnings on a craps throw. Then we played roulette for a long time. Ironwolf was up $65 or so, but lady luck was not with me and I blew through $100. Ah, well, that's why I don't go gambling very often.

I don't get nearly enough time out with my husband. I'm glad we made the most of it. I just hope we don't spend as much money next time! LOL
